SUMMARY: This tender invites eligible contractors for Excavation and Earthworks under the Kikuyu AHP Appraisal project. The scope of works includes site clearance, excavation, and earthworks as outlined in Bill No. 1 of the tender documents.

1. The Contractor must ascertain the nature of materials to be excavated and price the work accordingly. No allowance will be made beyond the Contract Sum for any alleged ignorance in this respect.
2. Works include full site clearance of all bushes, roots, boulders, natural obstructions and rubbish within the construction area, including destruction of ant/termite hills and nests, soil sterilization treatment, and backfilling with approved material in layers not exceeding 300mm thick.
3. Excavations shall be to widths and depths indicated on the drawings, or to such lesser or greater depths as the Architect may deem necessary to obtain satisfactory foundations.
4. Any variation in quantities actually executed shall be measured and valued by the Quantity Surveyor under the relevant Conditions of Contract.
